The children had another busy week but everything went amazing!! Wednesday we had our vision screening for the children that were signed up, you have information on how that went in your child's file box. Please check your family file box daily as we keep updates in there or have important information for you.
The children will be working on "Asking for What you Need or Want" with our social and emotional curriculum. We will be going over how it's important to use our words when we need help, as well as how to talk to our friends in respectful voices. For Clifford we will be working on "Investigate Apples!" If you check out our dramatic play area the children are now in an Apple store and learning how apples grow, what different types of apples, and able to point to the different parts of an apple. The children are also working on colors; green, orange and red, shapes; rectangle and diamond.
We sent home last week our Chocolate Dippers fundraiser, this is all voluntary but a great way to help with our school. Please take the time to check your child's personal box for their clothing, if you can check what supplies they may or may not have and if you need to fill up anything that is missing. Again, always a huge thank you to our families for all of the support. Please know our doors are always opened!
Blessing's to all!

Now that we are heading into our second week of September the children are really getting into the classroom routine. The children are really understanding our Listening Rules and even working on Self-Talk that we have been working on in our Social and Emotional unit. We have gone over how important it is to use Self-Talk to keep us focused, to help us understanding their needs or wants, to even help in a situation with a friend. The children are also really enjoying Clifford Big World curriculum. Our second week is about going over "Let's Start School!" It is showing the children how we greet families, teachers and our friends when we come into the classroom in the morning, how school can make you can feel nervous or sad when families drop us off to start our day, but how we can talk to the teachers about our feelings and to be reminded that they always come back!
This week the children are going over colors; green, orange and red and shapes; rectangle and diamond. For our Social and Emotional this week we will be going over how listening and following directions help learn us learn, as well as; repeating directions. We are also wrapping up this week with "Let's Start School!" with our Clifford Big World.
The children enjoyed celebrating Mother Mary's birthday, we had a fun snack and even sang to Mother Mary. Thank you to all our families for volunteering for snack on our monthly calendar!! We appreciate all of your support. 9/11/19 will be our vision screening, if you are wanting your child to participate please fill out the form and turn it in before the date, if you are needing a form they are available in the office. If you haven't had a chance to turn in your ASQ and ASQ-SE packets please do as soon as possible!
Thank you to our families that were able to join us on Open House, we had an amazing turn out and we all hope you got to see what your child gets to do during a school day. Blessings to you all!

Welcome to September! A lot of important dates for this month so we will keep the dates posted on our blog as well as attached to our family wall for references. This week will be working on our Social and Emotional: Self-Talk. Self-talk is talking to yourself in a quiet voice or inside your head and helps you focus and pay attention. We will also be introducing Clifford Curriculum and our first week is all about "Let's Start School!" We will also be going over the letter "s" colors; green, orange and red, and shapes; rectangle and diamond.
On Friday we will be celebrating Mother Mary's Birthday and we will provide a special snack for this quiet celebration. On Wednesday our class will be taking our school pictures, if you are wanting your child to be changed into a different outfit afterwards just refer to us and we will make sure to take care of that. Please check your child's box daily as we use it as a resource to keep our families up to date of what's going on in the classroom, our family folders, and any other important information.
Please check on your child's extra clothes to see if anything needs to be replaced or added, and to make sure all items have your child's name on them.
Thank you always for all that you do! We have enjoyed our first month and looking forward to what September has to offer! As always, please feel free to come to any of us with any questions or concerns.

Now that we have finished up our second week the children are really getting our routine down in the classroom as well as remembering our classroom rules. We have as a classroom been working on Social and Emotional curriculum and learning how to listen in a group with "eyes are watching" "ears are listening" "voices quiet" and "body calm" We are also learning that our emotions are important and even more important to use our words.
