Homework:
Every Monday your child will receive a homework packet that is due on Friday. It is important students turn in their homework on time. I have included a recommended schedule, but homework can be completed in any order. I suggest reading the Backpack Page every night to help improve fluency! Please continue reading 15 minutes every night with your child. The fluency page can count towards the 15 minute nightly reading requirement. Memory words (found at the bottom of this post) are high-frequency words that children are taught to recognize by sight. These words are either phonetically irregular and can't be decoded, or they contain letter sounds that haven't been taught yet. Practicing memory words on a regular basis can help improve your child's reading!

**Remember, students should be choosing an item from their spelling menu every night (Monday-Wednesday), resulting in 3 items completed and turned in as part of their homework. Thursday can be used as a night to study for the test on Friday. Due to the short week, we are only requiring students to choose 2 items from the menu this week.

Memory words:  I, my, she, her, he, & his

Spelling words: bunch, lunch, inch, pinch, ranch, branch, chip, chop, chick, check
