This week in First Grade:
Homework---I did not send home the Spelling Triangles in the Homework Folder this week...I think some of the words would not fit in the triangle. All of the rest of the homework is the same.
Reading---We are learning the 1,1, 1 rule. If a word has one vowel and one letter after the vowel, one more letter needs to be added to the end of the word before 'ed' or 'ing' can be added. For example: hug, one vowel and one letter after the vowel...one more g needs to be added before adding the 'ed' and the 'ing'. hugged, hugging
If a word only has one vowel and one or more letters after the vowel, the last letter does not need to be doubled. For example: help, helped, helping
Our stories this week are: "The Big, Bad Blob" and "The Monster Under the Bus"
Spelling Words: helped, helping, asked, asking, hugged, hugging, shopped, shopping, grinned, grinning
