Dear Pre-K families,
Welcome back. We hope you had an enjoyable week off of school with your families. It's such a blessing to be back together with the children this week. I missed them very much. This is a review week, we have been using our time to review our alpha friends as well as rhyming words, beginning sounds and blending words. We are also preparing for Advent that will begin next week. Advent is the time in which we prepare ourselves for the birth of Jesus. We have been making Advent wreaths so that we can count the 4 weeks before he comes. Thursday, we begin play practice and will be working with the 8th grade class to perform in the Christmas Program that will be on Wednesday, December 20th at St. Patrick's Church. I will give more information later as we receive parts. Next week, on Friday, December 8th, we will present the school Mass with our 5th grade buddies. We will be celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. During the presentation of gifts, we would like our preschool class to present a wrapped toy to donate to children who might not have a Christmas gift. Please bring in a new wrapped toy and mark the outside for a boy or a girl and what age. We would like to have them in the class no later than Thursday, December 7th. A few fun things going on this weekend... Saturday December 2nd, is the Merced downtown Christmas parade. It begins at 3pm. Our school student council members will have a float with a nativity scene of the Holy Family. I will be walking with the float and hope to see you along the way. Sunday December 3rd, our school Choir will be performing at the Merced County Courthouse Museum open house at 2:30. We have a presentation of three Christmas trees to commemorate our 90th anniversary celebration. It's a fun after noon to visit the museum and enjoy a cookie treat. This is a free event and I hope to see you there. Please see our school Facebook page for more information. We thank you so much for your continued support through out the year. Mrs. Veronica

Dear Pre-K Families,
We are on week #2 of our theme In the City, in the Country. This week we are learning about what it is like to live in the City. Our Alpha Friend is Queenie Queen Qq. We are working on our thanksgiving costumes. Our class will be American Indians. Miss C's class will be Pilgrims. We will celebrate on Thursday, November 16th with a Thanksgiving Feast in our Classroom. There is a donation bag and we are asking each family to please donate $2.00 towards the cost of the food. We will have turkey, corn, fruit, corn muffin, and pumpkin pie. Before we eat, we will go on a parade around the school in our costumes. On Thursday, November 9th, we will lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance to begin our school's Veterans Day Celebration program. If you are a veteran or know of one, please bring them at 8:15 in the school auditorium. Please have your child wear their OLM T-shirt and add any patriotic accessories. Our entire school will observe Veteran's day by being closed on Friday, November 10th. Our school is collecting food items to help out Catholic Charities with a Thanksgiving Food drive. We are asking all Preschool families to please donate 2 cans of corn, peas, or cranberry sauce. We will also be closed Monday, November 20th thru Friday, November 24 to observe the Thanksgiving holiday. This week we will be receiving the music for the Christmas Play that our class will be in. I will send out more information as I get it. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica |
