My Family, My Community

Dear Families,
This week, we continued our theme, My Family, My Community.  We have been learning about neighborhoods, and talking about the street we live on.  I was excited to know that many of the children knew what street they live on.  Our Alpha friend this week has been Sammy Seal Ss.  We have been having a lot of fun with spiders this week because 'S is for Spider.'  We have had spiders on our light table, in our sand and water table, at our science table, spider patterns and we have even been making play dough spiders.

Next week, we will have a very busy week. Our Alpha friend will be Pippa Pig Pp.  On Monday, we will have a visit from the Fire Department,  as we will be talking about fire safety and community helpers.  Tuesday, we will have picture re-takes and we will be making a large size rosary in the back circle of the school with chalk with our 5th grade buddies.  On Wednesday, the entire school will pray the rosary around it.  I will conducting Parent teacher conferences on Wednesday and Thursday.  I am really looking forward to meeting with you.

As the Halloween carnival approaches, we are looking for many volunteers to help with the cake walk as well as bakers to donate baked goods.  Please see the sign ups posted in the classroom.  Each family is asked to donate 2 bags of wrapped candies and $2.00 Towards the carnival.   We will also be posting a sign up for a special Halloween snack for our class.

We will have a special 'Pumpkin patch' at the preschool on Monday, October 31st.  Please remember that the preschool children do not dress up in costumes during the school day.

Thank you,
Mrs. Veronica and Mrs. Romero
