Welcome back!  I am very excited to start another school year at Our Lady of Mercy!  I am looking forward to seeing you all again/ meeting you for the first time!  If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected]. 

​REMINDERS:

• Our first day, we will have mass at 8:30am.  Students should come in full uniform.  Dismissal is at 12:30, with no extended care.  The rest of the week, we will dismiss at 2:30.
• There will be no hot lunch this week- please make sure your child has a lunch and snack at school.
• I will be sending home an information sheet this week.  Please fill out and return by Friday.  This is an easy way for me to collect contact information from parents and allows me to get to know your child a little better. 

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING:

• Religion:  Respect/ Mass Expectations
  
• Math:  Math Stations; Begin Chapter 1 in Math
  
• Reading:  We will begin our story next week :)
  
• English/ Writing:  Grammar Pretest/ Writer's Workshop
  
• Science:  STEM Challenge; Begin Chapter 1 (Animal Needs/ Adaptations)
  
• ​Social Studies:  Procedures- Students will be taking a quiz over classroom procedures on Friday for a Social Studies grade!
  

HOMEWORK:

• For homework, students will need to read 10 minutes, study spelling and vocabulary words for 10 minutes, and practice math facts and/or complete a math practice page.  We will have spelling words starting next week.  Additional homework will be listed on the blog in bold, but please check your child's planner, in case we have any expected changes for the week.
• Students will be assigned homework Monday - Thursday.
