Thank you for bringing in the classroom supplies. The children are having fun making friends and learning new skills. We will finish our first Superkids book and will begin the second one later this week. Please practice beginning sounds, rhyming and counting.
Supplies& Drop Off: Kindergarteners must bring a backpack and snack to school everyday. Also, children arriving before 7:50 need to go to the cafeteria and wait for the bell before coming to the classroom. When they arrive in the classroom the children 1) turn their name tag around, 2) put their folder and any communications in the green tray, and 3) hang up their backpacks. Then the children may go to centers or begin morning seat work. Snack Sale: Occasionally there will be juice or snacks for purchase (.25-$1). These are offered somewhat randomly throughout the year. The children worked hard and played well with their peers. We worked on classroom routines, letter recognition, number recognition, writing our names and getting to know our school. We introduced our first Superkids friend, Cass and are focusing on the letter C. Next week the cafeteria will be serving hot lunch. Milk and Hot lunch cards can be purchased in the morning through Teresa. She is in room 7 from 7:30 - 7:50 am. Or you can see her in the main office. If you would like your child to order hot lunch fill out the slip in the folder. Folders: Folders will be sent home whenever we have notices, papers, etc. that need your attention. When folders are sent home please return them the next school day (even if they are empty). Simply place the folder in the green box on the counter next to the sink. Encourage your child to take charge of this task for you in addition to hanging up their backpack. Homework: Homework goes out on Fridays and is due the following Thursday. Please complete the packet in pencil unless otherwise noted, remind the children to color in the pages neatly, and when practicing their name to write neatly on the lines. It may help if you write their name in yellow highlighter then let them write over the yellow in pencil. Please look over your child’s homework packet before they turn it in. Help your child correct any errors and encourage your child to work neatly. This is the time to establish good homework/study habits. Snack: Please pack a snack for your child everyday. It helps if you label the snack. Reminders If you plan on helping in the classroom, driving for field trips or chaperoning you must have completed the Safe Environment Training, cleared fingerprints, and submitted driving forms to the office. We will go on a field trip in October. If you want to drive/chaperone you must attend the safe environment training and get fingerprinted. Please allow two weeks for fingerprint clearance. All necessary training and clearances must be completed and in the office at least one week prior to our field trips. 0 Comments |
