I hope everyone enjoyed their Winter Break. We are patiently walking through Lent with our Savior Jesus Christ.
This week we will be having Penance on Thursday. Please discuss with the child the importance of Penance. We have discussed how our hearts and minds feel so much better when we attend penance. We will have a Mass on Friday if any family members or friends would like to attend. We are working on Cursive in class. All students will be expected to write in cursive expect for spelling. Spelling must be done in print. English- We will continue to work on different forms of Writing Reading - Operation Rescue Math - Chapter 6 We will have a test next week probably on Wednesday. This will cover multiplication and division. Timed tests are given Tuesday- Thursday. Be sure to practice with your child. We only have a few months of school left. Where has the time gone. Progress Reports for the third quarter went home Friday. Please be sure to review with your child and return by Wednesday. Conferences will be coming up soon and we will be discussing the dibels and your child's progress. We have a very successful class and I am very proud of each and every one of them.
Tomorrow we will celebrate Valentines Day. Students are allowed to wear red and white free dress. A letter went home Friday. If your child brings valentines please be sure they have one for each student. We have 26 students. This week will begin the season of Lent beginning on Wednesday. We will have a school mass beginning at 8:15 am if any parents or family members would like to attend. Our focus this week will be on preparing for Lent. Our class will be presenting the Stations of the Cross on Friday, February 15th. Each student will participate in the event. It will begin after morning prayer if anyone would like to attend. English - Poems and persuasive writing Cursive - We are continuing to practice cursive. When we return from our winter break I would like students to write in cursive except for spelling words. Reading - We will not have a story this week we will be focusing on reading our Religion book and discussing Lent Math - Chapter 6 We will be taking timed tests three times a week. Once your child passes one test they will progress to the next. Please be sure to practice at home too. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are unable so I can make other arrangements. Progress Reports will be going home. Please discuss talking in the class which counts as conduct. It is very important that the students are working and not talking during lecture and independent work time.
