This week we will be celebrating our 90th anniversary!! 

Friday will be a 12:30 dismissal.  
Golf tournament will begin at 1:00 if you are signed up to play
Saturday at 6:00 pm there will be dinner at OLM School
Sunday at 10:00 am there will be a Mass at OLM school.  All are encouraged to attend and please wear OLM uniform.  Students are allowed to wear shorts.  The open house will begin at 11:30 and end at 1:30.  There will be a BBQ for those who are interested in having lunch.

Reading- Underwater explorer, I also had the students look up vocabulary words in their reading book.  We have left them in our homework folder.  Please study the words with your child.  They will have a test on Friday along with the reading comprehension test about the story.

Its very hard to believe we are in our 3rd week of school.  Way to go 3rd grade!!

We have been moving along in our 3rd grade curriculum.  Please remember to remind your child if they do not finish all of their class work they are to sit out at recess to finish it and if it is still not complete they are to take it home.  It is your child's responsibility to turn in work completed and on time.  Late work will not be accepted after the following day it is due.  

We have began our cursive writing book today.  You will notice a homework sheet with letters upper and lowercase.  By January I hope we will be writing most of our assignments in cursive. Please help your child if possible to make sure they are doing the letters correctly.  We will move slowly letter by letter in class tonight is just a practice sheet.  

English - New Unit 3 which will cover nouns
Reading - Animal Fact/Animal Fable - please read the story aloud with your child Tuesday night
Math - Chapter 1 Place value, counting on
Social Studies - Community and Geography of Ca
Religion - Chapter 3, Show love for one another
Science - Chapter 1 plants, we will have a test on Tuesday AUGUST 29TH. Your child will be receiving a study guide which will include vocabulary words and questions.
Phonics - Unit 2 Short vowel sounds

As we move through the quarter please remind your child that they are responsible for completing all their work and on time.  Also Studying is part of homework.  Encourage your child to take home the text books needed to study along with their Interactive Journals.

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

We had a fantastic day today and looking forward to many more like today.  We accomplished several tasks and went over a lot of information.  This first couple of weeks we will be working on routine and behavior along with our academics.  Remember school is all about Learning in all aspects.  

Please go over the welcome packet with your child.  We went over alot of the material.  Sign and return necessary papers.  I did forget to send home family envelopes so they will go home tomorrow.  

Feel free to let me know at anytime if you have questions or concerns.

Remember to sign your child's planner.  Tonights homework will be 3x each in spelling which they all started in class so they could learn the format otherwise all homework will have to be completed at home.
