Dear Parents,
Wednesday, October 4th is our class field trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We will be leaving OLM School at 7:30 am. Please be sure to arrive around 7:15. We will be packed up and ready to leave at 7:30. We will be leaving Monterey at 2:00 pm so we should be back to Merced around 4:30. Please make sure someone is at school to pick up your child or they will be sent to Extended Care where you will be charged accordingly. Each child will be assigned to a chaperone when we leave school and will be in their vehicle. When we arrive the chaperone will be your child’s guide through the aquarium and the rest of the day. Each Chaperone only has 3-4 students in their group. I will be walking around the aquarium to assist as needed. Please talk to your child about behavior in and out of the aquarium. We have discussed as a class that we are representing OLM School and it is a privilege to attend a field trip. Remind them they are going in private vehicles and they should be respectful at all times. Schedule for the day: 7:15 – arrive at OLM 7:30 – leave OLM 10:00 – arrive in Monterey. Students will be provided a snack 10:25 – Mrs. Bliss will check everyone in 10:45 – Enter Discovery Lab (this is a small classroom environment only for our students. They will be introduced and able to examine real sea creatures) 11:45 – class ends and we eat lunch in designated area 12:15 – enter aquarium and tour with chaperone 1:30 – go to gift shop. You may go sooner. 2:00 – leave Monterey 4:00-4:30 – arrive at OLM Reminders:
