August 19-23

Welcome to the second week of school.  Hopefully all of you were able to read your child's Friday letter.  They were excited to write letters home.  It is not necessary to write a lengthy letter back just a friendly note telling your child you are listening.  Return journals on Monday.  I will be checking for a quick response.  Those students who have a response will receive a prize this week.  

We are well on our way through the school year and with that some students have already noticed the change from 2nd to 3rd grade.  They will be responsible for a lot of writing and learning plenty of study skills to prepare them for the future.  If they are unable to complete assignments in class they will be sent home as homework.  

This weeks agenda:
     I will be sending home  a note regarding your child's log in information for think central and math in focus.  The same user name and password is used for both.  Your child may go onto the website to read and listen to the story of the week along with other tasks they may find interesting.

Reading - The Trial of Cardigan Jones
Spelling - This week for spelling I will be assigning the task.  They will not be able to choose.  
We will write the words in our planner on Monday

SS - Week 2 Regions in Ca
Religion - Chapter 1 - The Church is one
Science - Chapter 1 Plants
