Book Report:  5/3----once they read the book they are to get the form from me---it is a response to literature--5 paragraph essay.  We have done these throughout the year so they are familiar with format.

Immigrant Doll:  Due 5/1---I have sent home instructions with the doll.  You may help---but they are to decorate the doll.  The writing part of the project is not a formal paper.  It's just writing as much information as you can give them about their family. Example:  My Irish side:  My great grandparents came over in the 1800's because of the famine.  They settled in Merced.  I still have relatives in Ireland.  My Swedish side:  My great grandmother came over in the 1800's because of a scandal.  She was introduced to her Swedish husband here and they were big wheat farmers in Cressey.  My German side:  I am not sure when or why they came.  They probably came for a better life.  My Scot-Irish side:  My Great Grandparents came in the late 1800's for a better life.  They came through Nova Scotia, across Canada, and down to California.  They lived in the Bay Area, lived through the Big Earthquake, and some ended up in Merced.

Research Report:  I am slowly giving these back so they can type them.  They are also given examples of the format.  Due 4/12
