week 8/14-8/18

Note:  If you have noticed, assignments get changed sometimes.  I changed things around for various reasons---usually it might mean too much homework--so I move assignments to the next day.  Be flexible.  The math program is new, so I will be adjusting when necessary as I work on the pacing of the program.
Homework help begins 8/14---M-Th -- if child not picked up by 3:30 they will be sent to extended care
      On the days I have away games for volleyball, they may go to the 4th grade class to get homework done.

Southeast states/caps test:  Thursday  8/17
       The tests are region by region right now-------when we have completed all the regions, there will be a test on all 50 states and all 50 capitals
Social Studies handout : "What's in a Name"  due Friday 8/18
Friday 8/18:  5th grade St. Vincent lunch----5th graders receive points for bringing in a St. Vincent lunch.  It will go against their Religion grade should they forget.  If they do forget---they need to remember the following week on Friday.  They are now old enough to look at planner and see they need to make a lunch.  They are old enough to make the lunch themselves.
Spelling tests:  will now include vocabulary---I will give them the spelling test----then they use those words to either complete a sentence--answer the definition, or have to use in a sentence
State Boards:  on-going home project    DUE 9/14
