week 9/10-9/15

Next week (9/18-9/22)  each student will give their oral presentation on their board.  I will have them sign up for a particular day.  If they want to bring food they may---but no extra credit.  It is just for fun.  I don't want them to stress over presentation---they point to each item and tell us what it is and why it is on the board.  The handouts are given back to them to read to the class--i.e.--What's in a Name; State History; Physical Features

I have away volleyball games on 9/13 and 9/14----so no homework help

Community Service:  Wed 9/13   morning:  Park Merced/afternoon:  Mission Gardens

We will begin a unit on explorers mid week this week.  At the end of the week I will assign groups to work together and research an explorer.  Each person within the group will have specific duties. Information must be gathered at home (computer) or library (school or Merced County). All information needs to be brought to school---work will be done in the classroom--not at home.  At the end of explorers unit---student will dress up as an explorer to deliver their findings to the queen (me).
