Explorers:  we will begin studying the explorers in Soc. Studies.  The students will be divided into small groups of 3 and be assigned an explorer.  They will need to obtain information from your computer at home and bring this information to school.  The information will be specific for what task they are assigned.  They will work on this project at school only---and put together a book which will be presented to the Queen.  This will be toward the end of October (possibly week of 10/24--I need to see how quickly and well they work to get book completed) and students will dress up as an explorer.  Do not buy anything for this day---wearing socks on the outside of pants (baseball pants work great); and one of dads big white shirts with a belt on the outside.  More information will be sent before presentation day.

Homework Help:  Mon, Tues, Wed ONLY---meeting on Thursday for all teachers so no homework help at all.

This last math test has shown me that your child gets the concept of multiplication.  However, many do not know their math facts.  They are making mistakes in multiplying and addition.  These are math facts they should have memorized in 1st grade (addition) and 3rd grade (multiplying).  Your child needs to memorize these facts for them to be successful moving forward.  Thank you for ensuring your child gets these math facts memorized.
