Weekly Update

And so begins our second week of school..

Monday, August 15th there will be Mass. (no uniform shorts)

Hot Lunch begins on Monday.

 This week in class we will be learning:


Language Arts-- We will be working on punctuation (understanding and use of punctuation/recognizing and understanding types of sentences); homonyms; contractions;
                         and wh & th words; 

Reading--Unit 1, week 2 of our Superkids reading program. 

Math--Place value; writing numbers in word form; comparing numbers; and orders/patterns of numbers.

Social Studies--Diagrams; chronological order; family history; and comparing daily life (today vs. long ago).

Science--Parts of a plant; types of plants; and how plants are different.

Religion--We will finish Unit 1 and begin to review for the test.
               TEST~Wednesday, August 17th


There was some confusion last week regarding the Backpack page that went home.  Please do not return it.  The Backpack page is for you to review with your child (study guide).

Every Friday a packet of work that your child has completed will go home.  Last Friday I forgot to pass out the packet because I brought a treat for the kids, we were outside enjoying the treat, and ran out of time.  I was able to give out the packet to a few parents that I saw after school. Some of your children will be coming home with their packet on Monday.
