8th Graders - How are you doing with your Lenten Promise/Sacrifice?  If it is one you really want to succeed, with look for ways that Jesus acted when faced with your situations. He will help you, especially if you ask for help!

Tuesday, April 9: Stations of the Cross at Mission Gardens - 1:30 leave school
Wednesday, April 10: Stations of the Cross at Park Merced - 10:45 leave school; NO HOMEWORK HELP - teacher's have a faculty meeting

Friday, April 12: Stations of the Cross at Hampshire and Pacifica - 9:40 leave school

? of the Day:  4/11: 8th graders have you given today's flyers to your parents?  Thank you. The SLE Rubric is at the bottom of the BLOG - I've moved it above the Constitution Notecards which I pray you are all using.

Have you read the calendar above?  Please be aware of events these days as we prepare for Easter.  Parents - your student's SLE collage that we spoke about at the beginning of the year is due the Monday after Easter, April 29th.  Tomorrow your child will bring home a rubric for this activity.


​​Religion:
4/8-12: Faith Families 18-22 remember your D Street food items! D Street $3 are due for April! Tonight, 4/9, go to the wau.org website and read today's meditation.  Then write the ways it says that our actions are like "snakes" and how they can affect us and other people.  Also write what actions are like Pilate, the soldiers, the mob, the would-be followers, the faithful friends.  According to this, why should we not feel overwhelmed and discouraged. Make this THOUGHTFUL with COMPLETE sentences. Begin SLE collage assignment - due Monday April 29th!

4/11: Countries of Africa -  know these next 11 countries: Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote D'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria, in addition to the 15 you already know - Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Somalia 

8th Grade SLE Rubric: each subheading should be written out with an accompanying picture showing evidence of that expectation being met.  These need to be placed on a large enough board as to look attractive ( not crowded and messy) with the appropriate SLE colors, and displayed in a way that speaks about you!

8th Grade Constitution test facts: the articles, amendments, and preamble; legislative, executive, and judicial branches and all their responsibilities and requirements.  The system of checks and balances, how laws are made, the electoral college, the national budget and details about the flag. These facts are on pages 3-44 in their Constitution book.  Each day we add in more information.  Please have them continue to review that which they have memorized and add in the new facts.
