8th graders ~
Good morning - We are on our last day before Easter Break - Holy Thursday to Sunday, April 19th. I am not giving classwork during this time, however many of you need to complete your missing work - the sooner the better - and all of you should review your Constitutional facts which at this point I'm sure you know very well as you've been reviewing them continually. I wish all of you a peace-filled and healthy Easter. May it be a time of new, fresh beginnings for all of us as we experience a closer trust in Jesus and all His goodness. Please read and share this letter with your parents. Dear Catholic School Parents and Guardians, April 3, 2020 The decision has been made that all Catholic school sites in the Diocese of Fresno will remain closed for the remainder of the current school year. Distant learning will continue in all 21 schools until the last instructional day in May. I realize that our seniors and 8th graders are deeply disappointed that the traditional graduation ceremonies and privileges will not be occurring this spring. However, each school is eager to plan a celebration, hopefully in early summer, that will honor the accomplishments of these talented graduates. During this expended period of social distancing, it is my hope that your family is being spiritually fed by participating in Masses offered virtually by the Pastors and the many wonderful religion and theology lessons offered by our teachers. Times of challenge and struggle are often the clearest reminders that God is with us and that we will not be abandoned. We are frightened now but the promise of the Resurrection assures us that we will rise again. Let us continue to pray for all who are ill and for the brave and faithful essential workers who serve selflessly every day. May God bless your families, Mona E. Faulkner Superintendent of Catholic Schools Diocese of Fresno As we progress through this confusing time let us act as Jesus during the last week in His life, remaining calm and faithful, TRUSTING in God.
