If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

I will not be having homework help this Thursday, February 2.  I apologize for the inconvenience.

_______________________________________________________________________

International night:  This will be February 8, and our class will be presenting Italy.  Please let me know if you have any items from Italy that we could have on display at our booth.  Also, we are looking for volunteers to prepare foods from Italy to hand out at our booth.  You can earn volunteer hours for cooking.  Also, we will be needing parents to work at the booth (again---volunteer hours).  So far we have volunteers to cook lasagna and raviolis.  We still need more food, as well as volunteers to work at the booth handing out samples on that evening.

I would also like a parent who would be willing to donate some bunches of grapes that we could use as decoration on our table.  These could also be handed out towards the end of the evening.  Please let me know if you would like to volunteer.
Thank you to the following parents/grandparents for volunteering to cook/bake:
Mrs. Bianchi-raviolis
Mrs. Olivares-lasagna
Mrs. Hunter-ricotta cookies
Mrs. Pareira-Italian soda
Mrs. Contreras-spaghetti
Mrs. Arceo-garlic bread

We are also in need of a couple more parent volunteers to work at the booth!  So far, we have Mrs. Stephenson, Mrs. Pareira, Mitch, Larissa, Abraham, Aaron T., Austin and Cooper.

This week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week.  There will be lots of fun activities.  Notes were sent home in the family envelopes.

Tuesday will be buddy day.  Our class will be paired with the 3rd graders.  Each 6th grader should bring a small gift for his/her 3rd grade buddy.  Tuesday is also spirit day, so they may wear OLM shirts.  All students will need to bring cold lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday.  There will be no hot lunch on these days due to Catholic Schools Week activities.

Our school's biggest fundraiser, the auction, is fast approaching.  The 6th grade has an amazing photo on wood created at woodsnap.  If you would like to see it, please stop by the office.  I'm sure you will love it and want to bid on it on auction night!  Also, please send in $6 to help cover the cost of our class's item.  Please put the $6 in an envelope and mark it auction donation, Katie Bernard.  Thank you so much to those who have already turned in their money!

Thank you, Mrs. Bernard, for organizing and creating such a special auction item!

Driving for field trips:  Please remember that if you are driving for field trips, the security gate is locked during school hours; therefore, you will need to load and unload students on the 27th street side of the school.  I know it may be a bit inconvenient, but we must always remember that safety is the top priority.
