​Homework help:    Homework help is 2:30-3:30.  Sixth grade homework help will be in Mrs. Wennberg's room on Mondays and Wednesday and in Mrs. Lorenzi's room on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is no homework help on Friday.  This year, in order to better meet the needs of our students in junior high, homework help will be a SILENT study hall.  It will be great for those needing a quiet place to work.  The teacher will also be available if assistance is needed.

Thank you for all of the prayers for my mom.  I was out 2 days because she was hospitalized for a TIA-mini-stroke.  She is doing well now.  The prayers are much appreciated!

Important 6th grade info:
1)  Camp permission slips have gone home.  Please fill them out and return them as soon as possible.  Please be advised that if you child will need to take medication at camp, they will need a signed doctor's note.  You will want to obtain this note as soon as possible.  Permission slips, with doctors' notes and copies of insurance cards are due September 21.

2)  We are in need of drivers for September 14 at 9:45 to visit the elderly at Pacifica and Hampshire.  In order to drive for this, you must have driver forms, insurance forms, copy of your driver's license, and proof of updated online safe environment training on file in the office by Sept. 7.

3)  We have ordered our class subscription for Time for Kids.  The cost is $5 per student.  Some students have not yet brought in their $5.  Please do so if you are able.  

4)  We need your help!  Our class's electric pencil sharpener has broken.  It is difficult for 25 students to use a handheld sharpener.  If anyone has one they would like to donate, it would be very much appreciated.

Monday-We will not switch classes the first day of school...we will stay in homeroom and go over rules and procedures.

Tuesday-Discuss magazine project.  Do not worry; we will do this project step by step.  Details will be given in class.  Today we will work on writing a letter to the editor and an answer letter.

Wednesday-Begin vocab. books.  These are very different from the 5th grade books.  Again, don't worry, we will work on this together at first.  Please bring index cards to class today.  We will do flashcards for unit 1

Thursday-finish story practice...work on skills for writing an essay test.
