This week in class: Reading: Our stories this week are: "Let's Put on a Play" and "The Contest:A Play". We are focusing on the vowel pairs of 'ea', 'ee', 'oa' and 'ue'. We are also working on homophones- two words that sound the same, but are spelled differently. Our homophones are: see,sea---sale, sail---meet,meat---week, weak Spelling Words: blue, tie, heat, keep, would, could, some, one, new, were Math: Place-Value Chart, converting ones to tens, knowing that if you have the number thirteen, thirteen is one ten and three ones. Religion:We Celebrate the Gift of Eucharist Social Studies-Civil Rights-Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday-January 15th Science: Weather and Seasons--Using a thermometer Art: Finishing Owls P.E.: Rhythm Sticks---Learning a song called spoons to play for Cherish Luncheon during Catholic Schools Week Last week Report Cards went home. Please try to start sentences with a word other than "I".
