Busy week in 1st Grade!! Thanksgiving Program-Wednesday Night-Please wear your Sunday best to the program. We are also in charge of the centerpieces for the tables, they are cute turkeys. We will also have a little snack on the 16th with the Kindergarteners...Thank you to our room parents for making this so fun! Reading- "Ettabetta is Seven" and "Toc's Chicken Pox" We are working on main idea and details. We will also read, "The Great Turkey Race" and talk about the parts of a story (Characters, setting, problem and solution). Spelling- game, same, ride, side, said, only, you, out, of, here This week we are learning about the silent 'e' on the end of words. The silent 'e' makes the vowel say its name or pronounce the long vowel sound. Grammar-practicing adding 'ed' at the end of words and learning how to use the suffixes 'ness' and 'less'.
