This week in First Grade!!! Reading- "When the Superkids Pretend" and "The Foolish Giant" We will be focusing on the headings in an informational story about lost things...and then figure out the main idea and two details of the story. We are also starting the long vowel sounds this week. Writing- Finishing our books about our field trip to Hunter Farms and a descriptive story. Spelling Words- go, no, so, be, he, me, she, we, hi, flu The rule we are focusing on is when a word only has one vowel and the vowel is at the end of the word it usually makes the long vowel sound. Math-Ways to Subtract Science-What Animals Need-food, air, water and a place to live Art-Thanksgiving Art We will also be singing, "God Bless America" for the veterans on Thursday Morning----all Veterans are invited to attend at 8:30 in the auditorium November 15th-Thanksgiving Program---Our class is in the program---we also make the centerpieces for the tables. November 16th-Kindergarten and 1st Grade-Morning Thanksgiving snack together +++Also Operation Christmas---2 toothbrushes and 2 dental flosses are due Thursday the 9th ---Thanksgiving Donations---2 cans of Cranberry Sauce---due Thursday the 9th Homework is due on Thursday!!
