4th Week of 1st Grade!! Reading-We finished the Review of Kindergarten today and started with our 1st Grade material. All of the students should have brought home their review book in their planner or backpack for you to see. This week we are reading Cass's Cat and Help. Writing- Writing sentences with detail, list things they have done, choose one item from the list to write about. Spelling Words this Week- bunch, lunch, inch, pinch, ranch, branch, chip, chop, chick, check Math-Chapter 2 is on number bonds. I apologize that I did not send home the information last week about this...it is in their planners today (Monday). I sent home information on Chapter 1 as well. We will continue working on spelling the words for numbers all year Social Studies-Test on Rules Science-Parts of a Plant Religion- Things we see in Church Art-The Day the Crayons Quit-Coloring/Drawing Project P.E.-Spatial Awareness, object manipulation, balance, fine/gross motor development----skip, hop, balancing a bean bag on our elbows and heads while walking, counting by 2's, 5's, 10's, jumping forward, jumping backward Picture Day is this week!! We should be on Wednesday....but if they do not get to us on Wednesday, we go on Thursday...I will let you know by texting the group if we went on Wednesday. Mrs. Blackburn's Husband, Mr. Harry Blackburn, is in the hospital and needs our prayers. All of the students know that Mr. Blackburn is very sick. The whole school prayed the Rosary this morning for Mr. and Mrs. Blackburn. Please keep them in your prayers. Keep up the great work. We are off to an awesome year! Mrs. Scheurich P.S. I am trying to get every student set-up at home on the website...let me know if you have trouble. I can only see what email you used to set-up last years account. I do not know the password you used. If you cannot get it working I can send you the information again, but only if you use a different email than before. The system remembers what email you have used. Thank you!!
