Happy Friday everyone!!  Please take the day to catch up on your missing assignments.  Go through each class in google classroom, Khan Academy, and turn everything in.  I'm still missing students on Epic.  Please log in and read the 2 books assigned this week.  Login info is on the week schedule, under Thurs.  We have 3 weeks of school left, so please don't leave everything to the last minute.

Attendance question today in google classroom "Class 2024."  Please submit by the end of the day.  Tomorrow I will be taking attendance via Zoom meeting at 11am.  Please make sure everyone attends.  Mrs. Poole will be hosting tomorrow!  I know you all miss your Library time, so tomorrow will be a fun meeting for us all!  Continue going through each class in google classroom and submit missing work.

Glad to see so many students on Zoom this morning!!  We read and discussed the story "The Earth Dragon Awakes" together.  Please make sure to complete the reading questions posted in google classroom.  They will be due tomorrow.  

Please check your email everyday, and go through each class in google classroom to complete all your missing assignments.  I see some students have not completed all the assessments on studiesweekly.com, so please make sure to login and turn them in today.  I've allowed retakes if you have scored a 5 or below, so you have the option to boost your scores if you want.  Please finish all your lessons and Unit test in Khan Academy today as well.

Some students have brought to my attention that a question on Cesar Chavez from last week's Week 32 Assessment was marked wrong, when it was right.  I've adjusted everyone's scores, and I apologize for the confusion.  Not sure why that happened, but I've contacted studiesweekly.com so hopefully they will resolve the issue.  If it happens again in the future, please let me know! 

We are in our final month of school!!  We have been online learning for 7 weeks now.  You guys have all done a really great job, so thank you all for your hard work!!  Everyone needs to check google classroom for their missing assignments, and remember to check email everyday. Everything that is graded goes back to your inbox, as well as any work that needs to be resubmitted.  I realize there can be a glitch sometimes and work comes through blank.  Just make sure to resubmit it, so it doesn't show up as a missing assignment. 

Zoom meetings on Tuesday and Thursday at 11am!  Mrs Poole will be joining us for Thursday's meeting so please make sure you attend!! It will be so nice to have some library time again!   Remember you will be marked absent if you are not attending Zoom meetings, per school policy.  

MONDAY  5/4

Religion- Chapter 14 "The Sacrament of Reconciliation."  Read pages 212-215 in your Religion book and do the activity page 215 in google classroom.
Math- Khan Academy.  Please complete "Equivalent Fractions and Comparing Fractions: Unit Test" under assignments on your homepage.  Please finish any lessons you have not completed. 
Language Arts- Unit 4 Lesson 12. Read the Vocabulary in Context pages 344-345 in your Journeys Reader and use each vocab word to create your own sentence.  Type in Google Classroom in Reading.
Spelling- Use Reader Notebook page 148, write each Spelling word and challenge word 3x each in cursive on binder paper.  Take a picture/scan and turn into English.  Complete pages 148 and 150 in your Reader notebook.  Please write out your answers, take a pic/scan and attach the docs to the assignments in google classroom under English.  RN 150 has to be written in cursive! 
Social Studies- Week 33 "California Industries." Watch the video before each section and read "The Birth of the Entertainment Industry in CA" "Louis B Mayer" "Walt Disney" "John Wayne" and "John Steinbeck."  There are 2 videos to watch today, make sure you watch both of them.  Feel free to answer the questions or do any games in the lesson to help your understanding.  
Science- WB102 "Recognize Vocabulary" PDF in google classroom.  Create a google doc for answers. 

TUESDAY  5/5  
*Attendance will be taken during our Zoom meeting at 11am.  Please make sure to attend or you will be marked absent, per school policy.
Religion- Continue Chapter 14.  Read pages 216-217 in your Religion book.  Worksheet 14B in google classroom. 
Math- Continue Khan Academy.  I still have students who have not completed the lessons, or taken the Unit test.  Please do so today, or it will affect your grade.  If you're caught up, please review your multiplication times tables, or work on a skill of your choice in IXL for 20 mins. 
Language Arts- Zoom meeting at 11am.  We will be reading the story "The Earth Dragon Awakes" together in our Journeys Reader.  Reading Comprehension Questions will be posted on google classroom under Reading class after our meeting at 12pm so make sure to complete them.
Spelling- Please use each basic spelling word to create your own sentences.  Please create a doc in google classroom and type them out.  Assignment will be under English.  
Social Studies- Watch the video under "California Industries" about Oil.  Read the entire section on "California Industries." Watch the video "Disneyland Opens" and read about Anaheim.  
Science- Chapter 2 Review on pages B58 and B59, #1-22, 25 and 26.  Please take your time and flip back through the book to help answer each question.  You will be graded on how many you get right, so please take your time to answer each question correctly.  Create a google doc in google classroom. 

WEDNESDAY  5/6

Religion- Read pages 218 and 219 and complete the activity on your own.  You do not have to turn it in, but I want you to do it.  Please pray the rosary today.  Reflect on the Glorious Mysteries below.

I will be recording your scores on the lessons to account for part of your grade, so if you received a low score, please feel free to redo the lessons and questions.  I will always take your higher score so please do your best to improve your scores.  If you are happy with your scores, please complete a lesson of your choice in IXL.
Language Arts- Complete the reading comprehension questions for "The Earth Dragon Awakes."  You will be graded on how many questions you get right, so please make sure you are reading the story and taking the time to flip back through for the answers.  
Grammar- Read pages 368 and 369, then complete RN 151 and 152 in google classroom under English.  Create your own google doc and either type out your answers, or write them out in your reader notebook and take a pic/scan and attach to the assignment. 
Social Studies- Watch the video and read "What Effect Have Cars Had on CA" and watch the video on Japanese Internment and read "George Takei" and complete the crossword puzzle.  Type your answers on the doc I have created for you.  
Science- Continue working on the Chapter 2 Review.  Remember you are graded on how many you have answered correctly so please make sure you are taking the time to flip through the chapter.  

THURSDAY  5/7
*Attendance will be taken during our Zoom meeting today at 11am.  
Religion- Chapter 14 Review sections A & B only  Create a google doc in google classroom.
Math- Khan Academy. Lesson on Decomposing Fractions.  There are 2 videos to watch and 11 questions.  There is also a Decomposing Fractions Review to read at the end of the lesson. Go onto the homepage and lessons will appear under "assignments." 
Language Arts- Zoom meeting today at 11am.  Mrs Poole will be joining us for some much needed Library time.  Please be on time and be ready to listen and have fun!! 
Complete RN 153 in google classroom, under English.  Type your answers OR write in Reader notebook and take a pic/scan and attach to the assignment in google classroom.  Due Friday.  
Social Studies- Type answers on google doc I have created for Week 33 Think & Review questions in google classroom. 
Science- I'm still missing 8 Chapter Reviews.  Please turn them in today if you have not finished.

FRIDAY  5/8

Religion- Finish your assignments for the week and complete your Chapter 14 Review.  
Math- Finish all the lessons in Khan Academy.  I'm recording your scores, so please take your time to watch all the videos, complete each lesson, and Unit Test. 
Language Arts- Please read "Rags: Hero Dog of WWI" and take the quiz on Epic.  You should've signed in yesterday, but if you didn't, please see instructions on Thursday 5/7 post.  
Social Studies- Week 33 "California Industries" Assessment on studiesweekly.com.  Please go through and take all the previous weeks if you have missed any.  I will let you retake the test if you get a 5 or below.  Take your time and go back through the articles if you need any help taking the test. 
Science- Finish any assignments from this week.  If you did not complete the Epic assignment from yesterday, please do so today.  I only had 12 students finish the book and take the quiz.  So if you are not part of the 12, please finish today.

Today we would've celebrated the Coronation of Mary.  We would have crowned her during mass this morning, so please pray the rosary together with your families.  We dedicate the month of May to our blessed Mother.  Please watch the video "Pope Crowns an Image of Mary" and answer the questions.  
We would have also celebrated Grandparents Day!  I ask that you send them lots of love today!!! Please call them and send them a card to let them know how much you love and appreciate them!!
