The Pre-Kindergarten classrooms are now implementing Big Day for Pre-K.  Please login to the Family Space and work with your child on Theme 2.  Ms. Irma’s classroom begins Clifford’s Big World curriculum.  The first theme is “Welcome to School and Apples.” Please remember to visit www.secondstep.org to link school to home for social/emotional learning. You must create an account with your personal email and password.  Then use the activation key given to you by the teachers. If you need that key again, please contact the preschool office or talk to the teachers.
 
OPEN HOUSE
Open House is Wednesday, September 4th from 5:30-7:30pm. This is a great opportunity to see what your child has been working on in school, look through curriculum, and experience the classroom environment. 
 
SCHOOL PICTURES
School Pictures will take place on Wednesday, September 4th and Thursday, September 5th. If your child attends on Wednesday, then his/her picture will be taken that day. If not, then pictures will be taken on Thursday.  If your child does not attend on either day, you are more than welcome to bring your child in to take his/her picture.
 
SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
If you intend to volunteer in the classroom on a regular basis, you are required to complete the online safe environment training and be fingerprinted through the Diocese of Fresno and Community Care Licensing. You can find the training at www.olmlancers.com under “For Current OLM Families” then click on Safe and Sacred Environment. You will have to pay the school $10 for the online training. Paperwork for fingerprinting is in the preschool office. You will also have to provide a copy of your immunizations to include Tdap; Flu; MMR; and TB clearance.
 
VISION SCREENINGS
Vision screenings will take place Wednesday, September 11th in the morning.  Only students who have a signed permission slip will be able to be screened.  If you need another permission slip, please stop by the preschool office or ask your child’s teacher for the form. Last year, these screenings were very accurate and helped several students in our school.
 
TEACHER BLOGS
The classroom teachers post a weekly blog on the school website: www.olmlancers.com 
Please visit the website to know what the students are working on for the week and if there are any special events happening at school.
 
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL LUNCHES
Once a month, the preschool provides lunches for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  The teachers will place a paper bag in your child’s file box.  Please take the bag home and fill it with a sandwich, fruit, chips/snack, and water/juice and return it on Friday of that week.  Please do not put perishable food items in the bag.  Thank you for your generosity and support of those in need.

Wednesday, September 4 & Thursday, September 5:  School Pictures
Wednesday, September 4th: Open House 5:30-7:30pm
Friday, September 6: All school Mass 8:15am in the auditorium. 
K-8 dismissed at 12:30pm.
Wednesday, September 11: Vision Screenings
Sunday, September 22: School Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, 9:00am.  Pancake Breakfast in the parish hall from 7:00am-12:00pm.
