Dear Pre-K families,
Happy Catholic Schools week!! Thank you for choosing our school for your child's preschool education. We started off our catholic schools week with a fun movie in the auditorium with our 5th grade reading buddies. Tuesday, is blue and white school spirit dress. On Thursday, students are donating a can of soup for "Souper" Bowl Day. Students may wear their favorite sport jersey. Friday, there is mass for the k-8th students. Preschool students will NOT attend mass because it is at the church. If your preschool student attends school on Friday, they should come to school like a normal day at the preschool. Thank you to all for donating towards our preschool auction item. The auction was a great success and a fun evening was had by all. It was so nice to see so many of you there. We are in our last week of our Awesome Animals theme. This week, our BIG idea is, Animals grow and change just like me. We will be learning about animal life cycles such as butterflies. We will also be talking about baby animals. We will have review of letters Aa - Ll. We will also be talking about vocabulary words, after, before, and during. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica

We are in week 2 of our theme Awesome Animals. This week we will be learning about habitats. We have been busy making animal masks and will be creating a nest. We will also be working on counting to 10, beginning sounds, rhyming and the letter Kk. We have had fun sharing pictures of our pets. If your child would like to share, please send in a picture of their pet. They can also draw a picture of their pet, or draw a picture of their favorite toy animal or a pet they might like to have. We will also be learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The entire school will be closed on Monday, January 21st to observe his special day. Thank you to the families that have donated the $10.00 towards our preschool auction item. If your family would like to contribute, please add it to the bag posted in the classroom. Any amount is greatly appreciated. The Auction is on Saturday, January 26th. This is our schools biggest fundraiser. If you are interested in attending, please contact Lisa Saling in the school office. It is a fun evening and a great way to meet other OLM families. We will celebrate OLM schoool Mass on Sunday, January 27th at St. Patrick's Church during the 9:00am Mass. This Mass will kick off National Catholic Schools Week. If your child attends, please have them wear their OLM t-shirt. We will celebrate January Birthdays on Wednesday, January 30th. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica Dear Pre-K families,
Happy New Year!! Welcome back. I hope you and your families had a blessed Christmas holiday, Mrs. Hermosillo and I would like to thank you all for your kindness and generosity. We hope everyone is feeling well this year, as we had a lot of children out in December with sickness. Please remember that if your child has fever or has vomited they need to stay home for 24 hours before returning to school. We are officially half way through our school year and ready to jump right in. We will start back with our new theme Awesome Animals. Our letter of the week is Jj. We will be learning about all kinds of animals. Our dramatic play area has been turned into a Pet Vet Clinic and we will be making animal homes in our block area. If you have a pet at home and would like to send in a picture of your pet, we will make a collage of our family pets for our class. January is a very busy month. The school will start off with memorial Mass for Deacon Joe who passed away in December. Preschool will not attend as sometimes it can be difficult for some to separate in the morning the first day back from a long vacation. Friday, January 11th will be Pajama Day at OLM. Children that attend that day are allowed to wear pajamas with appropriate school shoes(no slippers please). Monday, January 21st, school will be closed to observe the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. January 26th will be the school Auction fundraiser. If you are interested in attending, please contact the office to secure tickets before it sells out. A letter will be coming home with more information on the preschool donation request of $10 per family, Please remember that if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I am usually in the class by 7:15am or you can email me at [email protected]. I am always happy to work together with any concerns that may come up! Thank you, Mrs. Veronica |
