Dear Pre-K Parents,
Welcome back from winter break! I hope you were all able to enjoy some family time. As we return, we will continue with our animal theme. We have learned about pets, zoo animals, farm animals, and jungle animals. This week, we will learn about bugs/insects, review letters with diagonal lines such as Nn and Vv, as well as work on letters Ee, Ii and Tt. In our social emotional curriculum, we will be learning about fair ways to play. On Tuesday, we will have our February birthday celebration. This Wednesday, February 26th, is Ash Wednesday. This marks the 1st day of Lent. We will attend school Mass in the auditorium at 8:15am. Mass is open to anyone that would like to attend. Please have your child at school early so they may use the bathroom before we leave for Mass. We will leave just after 8am so we can have time to get seated. Ashes will be distributed after Mass. Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebration of Easter. During this time, we will be learning about Lent as well as Lenten/Easter traditions, and we will also be learning about the stations of the cross. I will be assessing the children in preparation for parent teacher conferences. If you would like to have a conference, please see the classroom bulletin board for sign ups. If the days/times do not work for you, please let me know. I am happy to accommodate you as best as I can. If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] Thank you, Mrs. Veronica

Dear Pre-K Families,
We are in week #2 of our animal theme. We will be talking about animals on the farm, in the zoo, in the jungle and in the ocean. We will be working on letters Vv, Jj & Nn. We will also be learning about the presidents and money. In our social emotional curriculum, we will be learning about managing waiting. During small groups, we will doing 'broken heart' math, making a nest, writing the word nest and learning about being kind and writing a sentence. Mrs. Romero will work on the letter Jj in our handwriting books. Our Fun Friday activity this week will be Valentine's Day. If your child does not attend school on Fridays, they may attend the morning session which will end at 11:30. If your child would like to bring valentine cards to share with their friends, please have them bring in 19. Valentine cards are a great way for them to practice writing their name. Please have your child write their own name on each card. Please leave the To: spot blank. There is a sign up sheet posted in the classroom for the Valentine's Day snack if your family would like to contribute. If you would like to have a parent teacher conference, there is also a sign up posted. If you are in need of a different day or time, please let me know. I am happy to work with you. Please remember that we will be closed the week of February 17th through the 21st for winter break. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica Dear Pre-K Families,
Happy February!! The year is going by so quickly. This week, we begin our new theme, Animals Everywhere. We are learning to sort and graph and working on letters Gg, Dd and Pp. This month will be going by very quickly. This week, we will begin to get ready for Valentine's Day. We will have a Valentine's Day treat on Friday, February 14th. A special snack list will be posted. If your child would like to bring a small treat and or valentine card, they may bring in enough for 19 children. Please have your child write their own name on the cards. This is excellent name writing practice for them. Please do NOT address the cards to individual children, just leave the to: spot blank. This makes it easier for the children to pass them out. We will close for winter break the week of February 17th - the 21st. When we come back, we will celebrate February Birthdays on Tuesday, the 25th. Wednesday, the 26th we will attend Mass in the school auditorium at 8:15am for Ash Wednesday. Please check your child's extra clothing. Please update their clothes to winter options. They should have extra underwear and pants. They are kept in the hamper next to the file box. This week seems to be very cold. We do go outside so please send a warm jacket with your child. It is very important to put your child's name on all clothing items so we know who to send it back to. There is a lost and found box under the desk when you walk into the preschool building. Sign ups for parent teacher conferences are posted. Please contact me if you need a different day or time. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica |
