Dear Pre-K Families,

As we enter into the last week of September,  we also enter into our last week of our theme, My 5 Senses.  We have had a lot of fun exploring our senses.  We have touched many things that feel different in our science center.  We have been exploring apples.  We used our 5 senses to participate in apple tasting, smelled apple scented play dough, and played with apples in our apple orchard (play house).  Last week we worked on color mixing.  We read a great book called Mix it Up by Herve Tullet.  This is a fun book to read and you can also watch a viewing of it on YouTube.  This week we will explore some of Herve Tullet's other books, Let's Play and Press Here. We will continue with colors, shapes, patterns as well as rhyming words and syllables.  Our alpha friend is Mr. X-ray Xx. 

Thank you to those parents who turned in the questionnaire.  If you have not completed it, please turn it is as soon as possible so I will have your results completed before Parent Teacher Conferences.  The sign up for Parent Teacher conferences is hanging in the classroom, If the days don't work for you, please let me know and I can schedule something else. 

There will be a Halloween Carnival Meeting on Wednesday, September 27th at 6Pm for room parents or anyone interested in being involved in the carnival.  Preschool is in charge of the cake walk. 

We will celebrate our September Birthdays on Wednesday, thank you to the families of the birthday children for providing a fun snack.

As you can see if you have peeked in the back, our play ground is in the process of being built.  The end is near and we look forward to getting the children back to a fun playground.  We continue to pray for it's speedy completion.

I will be out of town on Friday so Mrs. Romero and Mrs. Hermosillo will be teaching our class.

Dear Pre-K families,

This week we wil continue into week 2 of our new theme, My 5 Senses.  Our Alpha Friend will be Ozzy Octopus Oo.  This week we will continue to work on shapes, colors, patterns and syllables.  We will also continue to work friend of the day and show and tell of our All About Me Posters.  We will also be learning about apples.  We will do some apple tasting and we have turned our play house into an apple orchard.

We will not have music this week with Mr. Dimsey.  We will have St. Vincent Lunches for Friday.  We will send a bag home.  If your child is at school on Friday, Please fill it with a lunch to share with those less fortunate that us. 

Mrs. Mary sent home the questionnaire, please complete them and send them back no later than September 22nd.  We will be using the information gathered for Parent Teacher Conferences in October.  I will be posting a schedule in class to sign up for Conferences.  They are October 19th and 20th.  If you need to make arrangements for a different day or time, please let me know. 

This Sunday, our 6th graders will be putting on a Pancake Breakfast to help with the cost of 6th grade camp.  Please support them by purchasing tickets.  It will be at the St. Patrick's church hall from 7am until 12noon. 

We will also celebrate an all school Mass on Sunday at 9am at St. Patrick's Church.  If you attend, please have your child wear their blue OLM t shirt.
