Dear Pre-K Families,
We are beginning our new theme, Our Community. This week we will focus on Places We Go. We will be talking about maps of places in our community and in our classroom. We will focus on letters A-E this week and also focus on rhyming. This week, our school will celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on Friday October 4th. St. Francis is the patron saint for animals. This Mass will take place outside at 11:00am. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend because this is during our lunch time. If you and your family would like to attend on your own, you are welcome to bring your pets/animals to be blessed during the Mass. Please do not send pets to the classroom. With our social emotional curriculum, we will continue to explore more feelings like surprised and scared. Saturday, October 5th is our schools Oktoberfest event at Hunter Farms from 6pm - 9pm. Tickets are available in the office. This is an adult only event and must be 21 or older to attend. Please save the date of Saturday, October 26th. This is our schools Halloween Carnival. We will be posting sign ups for baked goods and shifts to work in our booth. The preschool is in charge of the cake walk. Each class will also be contributing to donate a gift basket for the raffle. This is a really fun event that benefits each classroom directly and is a wonderful night to meet other OLM families. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica

Dear Pre-K Families, We are in the final week of our theme My Family. This week's focus is on All Kinds of Families. We are continuing with show and tell of the All About Me posters and their classroom family pictures. The kids are doing such a great job talking about themselves and their families. Show and tell gives them the opportunity to talk in front of the class using their strong respectful voice and answer questions from their friends. We will be working on diagonal lines in our Handwriting Without Tears book. In Math, we will be learning different ways to sort objects, and in science, we will review healthy food choices and do some apple tasting. This week in religion, we will learn about St. Vincent de Paul. Once a month, we will ask the children to color a lunch bag. We will send it home on Wednesday with those students that attend on Friday and ask each family to provide a sack lunch to donate to people who may not be able to have a lunch. Directions will be attached to the bag. Please bring it in on Friday Morning and we will take them to the office where they get picked up to be delivered to those in need. We are beginning our new unit in our social emotional curriculum and we will be talking about feelings. We will also continue learning letter direction with Friend of the Day and I will continue to assess students in preparation for October parent teacher conferences. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica Dear Pre-K Families,

Wednesday will also be school pictures if your child attends that day. if not, they will take their picture on Thursday. On Friday, students that attend Fridays, will attend Mass in the school auditorium. We will celebrate Mother Mary's birthday and have a special snack.
