Dear Pre-K Parents,
We are in the final week of our theme My Family. This week we conclude with All Kinds of Families. We will also continue to talk about healthy foods and eating everyday foods vs sometimes foods. We will also be doing apple tasting, exploring apples and learning about My Five Senses. We will continue clapping syllables and our nursery rhyme, Hickory Dickory Dock. In handwriting, we continue with pre-writing skills as we make diagonal lines. In science, we will explore how we sort objects. In our social emotional curriculum, we are exploring feelings. We have made some changes inside the classroom as our dramatic play center has transformed into an apple orchard. As we prepare to learn about St. Francis next week, we would like to make a poster of our family pets. Please send in a photo of your pet so we can add it to our pet poster. In preparation for progress reports next month, I would like to remind you to please complete your ASQ questionnaire that was in the blue folder. We will continue to pray for firefighters and those that have been affected by the fires. We will also continue to pray for Mrs. Blackburn and Mrs. Mary, as well as all the teachers and students on the other side of the school as they welcome back students in kindergarten through 6th grade. We wish them an easy transition back to class. I know that many of our students have older siblings that are coming back. Please be conscientious of the 2:30 pick up time as I teach an online zoom class after that pick-up time, so it may be necessary to pick up your preschool child first so that you are prepared to pick up students from the other side at 2:30. I am not exactly sure how pick up is going to work on the other side, but I think it is only a drive thru pick up. We will celebrate our three September birthdays on Wednesday, September 30th. If your child has a September birthday and you would like to bring something, I will have a birthday sign up out on the table. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica

Dear Pre-K Families, This week, we continue with our My Family theme as we explore family fun. We will be discussing how families celebrate together. We will also talk about the holy family and how we can be like them by being kind and helpful. In math, we will work on counting to 5 with bear counters. In science, we will talk about different states of water in ice and gas forms. We will be using Hickory Dickory Dock for rhyming. We will also continue to clap syllables. For handwriting, we will explore curve lines. In our social emotional curriculum, we will learn about asking for what you need/want. As we continue to see the air quality as very unhealthy, we will need to stay inside with the windows closed. We will have the fans and air conditioning running in order to keep the air circulating inside the classroom. We are seeing an increase in allergy symptoms due to all the smoke in the air. Please continue to monitor your child’s health and if they are feeling sick, please keep them at home. Also, please remember that if your child has experienced fever, they should remain home until they have been fever free without medication for 24 hours. Please send in a sweater if your child feels cold from the circulation of air. We continue to remain vigilant in our cleaning and hand washing as to keep germs away. Please remember to complete your blue folder with the ASQ questionnaire and send it in. I seem to be missing quite a few. We continue to pray for those that are sick, firefighters and those that have been displaced by the fires. May God Bless us all. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica Dear Pre-K Families,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the extra family time. This week, we begin week 2 of our My Family theme. We will focus on Taking Care of Each Other as we read books about being a helper and working together within our families. We will continue learning about straight lines as we write lines in shapes. In math, we will measure lengths with snap cubes. In science, we will learn about healthy foods with everyday foods vs sometimes foods. We will also continue learning about syllables. In our social emotional curriculum, we will learn about following directions. Thank you to all that were able to send in clorox wipes last week; we really appreciate it. As you are out and about, please think of us if you see lysol spray for down the road. We are doing our best to keep things as clean as possible. Thank you to those who turned in the blue asq folder and the All About Me page. If you have not had a chance to turn them in please bring them in as soon as you are able to complete them. We are doing show and tell with their page, and they have an opportunity to stand in front of the class and talk about their page before I put our class book together. Also, please try to arrive before 8am so that your child has enough time to practice writing their name when we sign in. In an effort to keep the air circulating in the classroom, I am running a few fans. It is also sometimes a bit chilly in the morning when we go outside for story and music/movement. Please send a light sweater with your child in the morning. We will be celebrating Mother Mary’s birthday on Tuesday with a special snack. Birthday celebrations for the month of September will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 30th. All children that have birthdays in the month of September will be celebrated that day. I will put up a special snack request list later in the month. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at [email protected]. |
