Dear Pre-K Families,
It was so nice to see so many of your families at the Halloween Carnival on Saturday. On Monday, we will have large group in class to carve our class pumpkin. On Tuesday, we will celebrate Halloween in our classroom with a special Halloween snack. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to bring something. Please remember that children are NOT allowed to wear costumes to preschool on Tuesday. We will also have a 'pumpkin patch' in our yard for the children to select a pumpkin. If your child would like to bring a small treat for our Halloween treat bags, you are welcome to send in a bag of candy, there are 23 students. On Wednesday, we will celebrate All Saints Day with an All School Mass in the Auditorium. The 8th graders will be dressed up as Saints. Thursday, we are excited to have a visit from the California Highway Patrol. We are also hosting our preschool fundraiser dinner from Trevino's. If you have not already turned in your ticket/money, Mrs. Mary needs to please collect that. This week we will also begin our new theme, In the City, In the Country. Our Alpha Friend will be Callie Cat Cc. We only have three weeks left until Thanksgiving break. Our class will be making American Indian Costumes to celebrate a Thanksgiving feast with Miss C's class who will be Pilgrims. When we return from break, our class will be in the Christmas program with the 8th graders. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica

Dear Pre-K families,
We have had a very busy week. We are so grateful that we are now able to get on our playground!! What a blessing. We hope you all had an opportunity to visit the book fair. If not, you may still purchase books online. I enjoyed visiting with many of you during parent teacher conferences. I look forward to meeting with more this week. This week we will continue to work on our Alpha Friend Pippa Pig Pp. We will use this week to work on some Halloween projects, and review. On Wednesday, we will celebrate our October Birthdays. I have had the sign up sheet with me during conferences and it will now be posted in the class. Also, there is a sign up for treats for our Halloween class party. We will share a fun Halloween treat in our classroom on Tuesday the 31st. No costumes are allowed at school for the preschool. We will also have treat bags if you would like to send in a small treat from your child. Please look for the flyer that Mrs. Mary sent out. There are a lot of details that are important. Please turn in your ticket money for the Trevino's take our dinner by Friday. We look forward to the take out dinner on the 27th. We were not able to make the chalk rosary in the back circle due to rain on Friday. I believe we will make it on Tuesday this week with our 5th grade reading buddies and the entire school will pray around it on Wednesday. If you signed up to bring baked goods, you may deliver them on Friday or bring them Saturday night to the carnival. There are also some shifts still available to work, please see the sign in sheet in the classroom. Looking ahead, the entire school will be closed on Friday, November 10th to observe veterans day. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Halloween Carnival on Saturday, the 28th. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica Dear Pre-K Families,
Welcome to October!!! We just started our new theme, My Family, My Community. We will be talking about families, and communities. This week will focus on family. We are talking about our own families as well as the Holy Family. Next week we will start a new show and tell calendar and the theme will be My Family. On the day designated for your child, please send in a picture of your family. Our Alpha friend this week is Iggy Iguana Ii. We will be learning about St. Frances this week. His feast day is on October 4th. He is the patron saint of animals. Our school will celebrate the blessing of the animals mass on Friday morning at 11:00am outside in the front of the school. Unfortunately, preschool will not be able to attend because that is our lunch time. If you would like to attend, you will need to take your child on your own. You are welcome to attend the mass and bring in your pets to be blessed. October is the month of the rosary, and we will be learning about the rosary. Our class usually does a giant chalk rosary in the back circle with our 5th grade reading buddies. I will send more information on this later. October is also Fire safety month and we will have a visit from the Fire department on October 11th. Please remember that if you have not already signed up for parent teacher conferences, please sign up in the classroom. If the dates don't work for you, please let me know. I am also in need of a few ASQ questionnaires back. If you have not already turned it in, please remember to bring it in. The School Halloween carnival will be on Saturday, October 28th. Preschool is in charge of the cake walk. Please sign up in the classroom to bake/donate cookies, cupcakes or a cake. Our class will also be donating a basket for the raffle. If you are able to donate $1.00 towards this, Mr. Van Hagen will put together a basket from our class. We will have a bag hanging on the wall to collect. We had a lot of fun learning about apples. Please make sure that you were able to check out our apple orchard in the playhouse. It will be coming down in a few days. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica |
