Dear Pre K Families,
The Auction is now behind us. We would like to thank Mrs. Gibson, Tanner and Tyler's mom for getting our class project together. It was nice to see some of you at the event. It was really a fun evening and Mrs. Blackburn made our playground project the 'Fund of Need'. We were able to raise quite a bit of money to put towards our playground renovation. Thank you to all who donated. We are into our theme 'Animals Everywhere' Last week our Alpha Friend was Fifi Fish Ff. We talked a lot about different kind's of animal and animals that were pets. In large group, we wrote the word 'Fish' and made a fish bowl. We also did a direct draw of a cat, wrote the word 'cat', and gave our cat's a name. Our Dramatic Play area is now a 'Pet Clinic.' We have many pets on display with print so that the children can write pet words. They have also been learning about how to take care of pets. Friday finished out with Catholic Schools week. We are so lucky to be a Catholic School. This week, our Alpha friend will be Andy Apple Aa. We will talk about zoo animals and get prepared for Valentine's Day. We will be making Valentine treat bags. If your child would like to bring in valentines for the class, we currently have 30 children in our class. Please have your child write their name in the From: section and leave the To: section blank. Have them write a few valentines per day as this is really good practice for name writing. We will celebrate Valentines day on Tuesday, February 14th with a special snack. The Valentine list will be posted on Monday Morning. All are invited to attend. If you are interested in helping in the classroom that day, please contact me. On Wednesday, February 15th, we will celebrate our February birthdays. A birthday wish list will be posted on Monday as well. This week on Wednesday, February 8th, we will have International Night in the school auditorium. This event will start at 6:00pm and end at 7:30. The preschool will present the country of Madagascar. This is a fun event and each class puts together a display from a different country and provides a food sample to share. The event is free and we hope to see you all there. Please remember to check the classroom board to sign up for snack. On most days, please plan to provide snack for 24 children. On Wednesday, please plan to provide snack for 25 children. On special party days, please plan for 30. Looking ahead, the entire school will close the week of February 20th. Classes will resume on Monday, February 27th. Thank you, Mrs. Veronica
