Good Morning and Happy Friday,

I hope you all got my e-mail yesterday about the notice from the Bishop.  In case you didn't he says that all Catholic schools including preschools will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time.  I went to school yesterday and got the curriculum for the rest of the school year so I can keep on teaching your children all the way through...just in case.  Governor Newsome has called for a statewide "stay at home" order.  I'm sure it doesn't include essential workers, my husband works at the hospital and he is still going every day.  Sooooo.....let's make the best of it!

Wash your hands and sign in.  The question of the day is...What is your favorite shape?

Second Step day 5 is to read a book related to this weeks theme.  You can go online to Second Step.org for recommended books, resources and videos.

Next, let's get out our paper titled Math Mat #18, How do we make patterns?  Mom and Dad, we need a LOT of practice in making patterns...check your child's progress report.  The first row has an AB pattern.  On the second row do an AABB pattern and on the third row an AAABBB pattern.  Start with color, you can use anything on hand.  The next time you work with your children on patterns it can be shapes or sizes.

Now is a good time for a snack break!  Wash your hands and say your prayer.  Please use your good table manners and clean your area when you're finished. Please wash your hands again!

It's cold so put your coats on...without help please!  Mom and Dad can help with the zipping and buttoning though!  Remember put your hood on first and the rest will fall into place!  Do you have a bike?  A scooter? Roller skates? Shoes that run fast?  Okay...let's burn off some of that energy!!!

Come back in and wash your hands, sing the ABC's or Happy Birthday and your hands will be clean when you're done with your song.  Don't dry your hands on your clothes! Use a paper towel instead!

Now let's get on Epic and watch a video!  Your choice today! Rest up because your next assignment is making your Stations of the Cross book.

First cut the pages across the line on the page, not down.  Fold them so you can't see the picture or the words and put them in order.  You'll need help with that.  have someone read each station to you and answer these questions after each station.  #1:  Why was Jesus condemned?  Who did He say He was that people didn't believe?  #2:  Is it heavy?  #3:  Does anyone help Him then?  #4:  Who is Jesus Mother?  #5:  Would you have helped Jesus carry his cross?  #6:  What happens when Veronica wipes His face?  #7:  The cross is so very heavy!  #8:  Do the guards let them talk?  #9:  Will He get back up?  #10:  Why?  #11:  Could he have stopped this from happening?  #12:  Why did Jesus die on the cross?  #13:  Who is the lady in the picture?  #14:  What happened on the third day?  Whew!  I'm sure you surprised your parents with how much you have learned!  Have Mom and Dad staple the folded pages together to make a book!

I think that's enough work for a Friday!  You are all amazing and I miss you very much!!!

May the Lord keep you healthy and happy,

Miss. C.
