Sweatshirts and Sweaters:
Please label all sweatshirts and sweaters. No iron clothing labels are a great way to do this. You can write your child's name on them, they stick on (no ironing), and stay on in the washer and dryer. Remember, only OLM sweatshirts are allowed to be worn in the classroom. Non OLM sweatshirts may be worn outside, during recess times.
Our field trip to Hunter Farms is October 23rd. We will leave at 8:10am and return by 11:30 am. Permission slips will be coming home soon. Chaperones must have completed the required safe environment training, cleared fingerprints, and turned in the forms for driving (see office for these).
Please bring in a photo of your pet. We are making a poster for the Blessing of the Animals Mass. Due 9/25/19.

Welcome back, we hope you had a refreshing Easter vacation. The end of the school year is fast approaching and there will be many activities in the coming weeks. Please note the dates to remember at the bottom of this newsletter.
Chaffee Zoo Field Trip:
We are going to the Zoo May 1st. We will depart by 8 a.m. and return at 2:30. Children need to bring their car seats and a bag lunch. Free dress is allowed and tennis shoes are best. Drivers/Chaperones be aware there is a $5 parking fee.
Writing Festival Awards:
We will be attending the awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 8th. Drivers are needed for this event. Please send in the permission slip by May 1st. We will leave at 8:30 and return around 11:00.
8th Grade Carnival
Please send in $10 to purchase tickets and/or food. The 8th grade carnival is Friday, May 24th, from 10-12. There is Free Dress. There will be many game booths and activities set up for all the students. Food will also be available for purchase. Dismissal is at 12:30.
Summer tutoring spots are filling up. If you were interested in summer tutoring, please let Mrs. Gargano know as soon as possible. Dates are Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 11th –July 3th. Tutoring is available for incoming Kindergarten – 3rd grade in reading, math. It’s a great way to get extra help or get ahead for the next school year.
Kindergarten Field Day
Wednesday, May 29th is our field day and class party. Please bring a toy/game to play with and a beach towel. This is also a free dress day for Kindergarteners. A sign up sheet for lunch will be posted outside the classroom doors.
Kindergarten Closing Prayer Service
You are invited to the Kindergarten Closing Prayer Service and Distribution of Certificates on Thursday, May 30th. It will begin following morning prayer in the auditorium. The children are to wear their Mass day uniform. Please ensure that a parent or representative is there for your child on this special day. This is Kindergarten’s last day of school. Dismissal is immediately following (approximately 9:30).
