We are required to take roll daily. You can send me an email at susie.gargano@olmlancers.com. I will be setting up a google classroom page with daily assignments and you can sign in there as well. Your child's google account was attached to their backpack on Friday. Your patience during this time is greatly appreciated.
Dear Parents, As you know we will be closed for the next two weeks. I did not mention this to the children so that you could have the opportunity to talk to your child about this as a family. In your child's folder, I have included assignments to be completed during this time. These include; two packets labeled week 1, two packets labeled week 2, three homework packets, our math book and two superkids reading booklets. I also attached your child's google account information to their backpack. If you need to contact me my email is susie.gargano@olmlancers.com. Do not hesitate to email me if you need further information/assistance. Todays homework packet was accidentally attached to the back of week one papers. Next Friday's homework pack is attached to the back of week 2 papers, and the following friday homework is loose. Each homework packet is labeled in case you find this confusing. Week one: Reading: pages 24-33 in Units 18-20 (P,V,W) Superkids booklet. Directions are at the bottom of each page. The students have already heard the story. Read the story to your child then help your child read the story to you. Read the story at least 4 times. Complete practice book pages in week one packet. Math: Pages 23, 24, 26, and 27 Social Studies: read Studies Weekly magazine together and answer questions on the back. Religion: Complete the worksheets attached to week one packet. *Attached in the packet are supplemental worksheets. Monitor your child to ensure they understand the directions and grasp the concepts. Children are to do the following daily: * write 3 or more sentences using the sight words. You can dictate these or they can write their own. * Practice blending 5-10 minutes ( I need to figure out how to post this on this blog.) * Practice skip counting by 10's, 5's to 100 and practice skip counting by 2's to 30. Let me know if you need further instructions. I will post the following weeks assignment next Friday. Stay healthy and we will see you in two weeks. Susie Gargano

Wow! The school year is going by so fast. It's seems like it was just Halloween and the kids were excited about which costume they would be wearing on Halloween. Mrs. de Leon and I have enjoyed helping the children learn new skills and watching them grow. We can't wait to see how much they will accomplish in 2020. Don't forget, tomorrow is a half day. Dismissal is at 12:30. There is no Extended Care. We will be having our class party at snack time (10:30ish) so you do not need to send your child with a snack. No homework will be sent home this week. Enjoy this time with your families making lasting memories. Homework will be sent home the Friday that we return to school. If you want to do homework, here is a list of things your child can work on: Write the alphabet Write the sight words Write numbers to 100 Write simple sentences using sight words. (I see the yellow cat. it can purr. The cat is soft and fluffy.) It's ok to let them use phonetic spelling. Play board games. Play card games Read a story together. Help them learn to tie their shoes. Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. -Mrs. Gargano and Mrs. de Leon |
