 CL​​ASSES ARE SET TO RESUME MONDAY, MARCH 30TH (if all goes well).  YOU MAY CONTACT ME ANYTIME VIA EMAIL.  I WILL BE CHECKING MY EMAIL THROUGHOUT THE DAY, AND WILL RESPOND ASAP.  MY EMAIL IS sophia.jorgenson@olmlancers.com.  I WILL LIST THIS WEEKS ASSIGNMENTS.  STUDENTS WILL KEEP THEIR SUPERKIDS AND MATH WORK BOOK PAGES IN THEIR WORK BOOK.  PLEASE DO NOT TEAR THEM OUT!  OTHER ASSIGNMENTS SHOULD BE COMPLETED ON COLLEGE RULED PAPER.  HAVE YOUR CHILD KEEP THESE ASSIGNMENTS IN THEIR FOLDERS, SO THAT THEY CAN TURN IN THEIR WORK ONCE WE ARE BACK AT SCHOOL.  YOUR CHILD WILL NEED TO ACCESS IXL FOR MATH AND LANGUAGE ARTS.  I WILL BE EMAILING YOU YOUR CHILD'S IXL ACCOUNT USERNAME AND PASSWORD.  SOME PARENTS DO NOT HAVE AN EMAIL ON FILE.  IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM ME BY TOMORROW MORNING--PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH YOUR INFORMATION.  STUDENTS KNOW HOW TO NAVIGATE THROUGH IXL THIS IS A WEEKLY CENTER ACTIVITY (THEY ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROGRAM).  I WILL BE CHECKING STUDENTS PROGRESS ONLINE, SO PLEASE BE SURE THEY ARE ABLE TO GET ONTO THE SITE.
I WILL BE POSTING THE WORK FOR NEXT WEEK ON SUNDAY, MARCH 22nd.

Monday

Reading:   we will begin Chapter 26 in our Superkids reader.  Read, " Oswald's Invitation," pages 104-105. Discuss text, for comprehension. Fluency, make sure your child is reading with appropriate and natural phrasing.  Do word workbook pages 56-57.

Spelling:    the spelling words are on superkids word workbook page 56.  Please introduce words to your child.  Help them pronounce words,and  define the words.  Students shoudl write words 3x's each.

Math:  we will be reviewing math that we have already learned via IXL.  Today students will be reviewing 3 digit addition.  Once your child is logged into IXL have them go into the Math portion and scroll down to ADDITION and do all the 3 digit addition (numbers 6,7,and 8). 

Social Studies:  Read and discuss this week's Weekly, "Capitals or Capitol Buildings."

Science:  This week we will be reviewing and rereading last weeks chapter, "Observing and Measuring Matter."  Read and discuss, "Matter," pages C5-C7.  Students will answer the THINK ABOUT IT questions, numbers 1&2.

Tuesday


Reading:  Read, "Ana's Advice," pages 106-107.  Discuss text for comprehension. Fluency, make sure your child is reading with expression. Students do word workbook page 58.

Spelling:  ABC order

Math:   IXL-3 digit subtraction (number 1&3).

Social Studies:  Have your child answer the following two questions on a piece of paper in COMPLETE SENTENCES. The answers are in the weekly.
1.  The word capital is a _____________?
2.  What is the meaning of capital?

Science:  Read and discuss, "Solids," pages C9-C13.  Answer the two questions on page C13  THINK ABOUT IT.


Wednesday

Reading:  Read, "A Little Uncomfortable," pages 108-109.  Discuss text for comprehension. Fluency, reading with expression.  Students will do word workbook page 59.

Spelling:  spelling sentences

Math:  IXL-Multiplication, multiplying by 2.

Social Studies:  Make sure your child answers the following question in COMPLETE SENTENCE FORM.
1. Why was our country's capital named after George Washington?

Science:  read and discuss "Liquids," pages C15-C19.  Answer the two questions in THINK ABOUT IT, page C19.

Thursday

Reading:  read, "GO,GO,GO!" pages 110-111.  Discuss text for comprehension.  Fluency, read text in illustration.  Word workbook page 60.

Spelling: write words 5x's each

Math:  IXL-Multiplication, multiplying by 5.

Social Studies:  Students need to answer the following two questions in COMPLETE SENTENCE FORM.
1.  How many branches of government are there?
2.  In which building does Congress work?

Science:  Read, "Gases,"pages C21-C25.  Answer the two question in THINK ABOUT IT, page C25.

Friday

Reading:  Read, "Cock-a-doodle-don'y," pages 112-113.  Word workbook page 61.

Math:   IXL-Multiplication, multiplying by 10.

Social Studies:  Answer questions in COMPLETE SENTENCES.
1.  What is California's capital?
2.  What is the capital named after?
3. Why would the governor live in Sacramento?

* Remember to silent read for 15 minutes a day.  
*I highly suggest students work on IXL for 30 minutes a
