Week of Oct.14-18
This week will be the end of the first quarter-report cards will go go home on Friday, October 18th. This past Friday students went home with a letter regarding the Sacrament of Reconciliation. During conferences next week I can answer any questions you may have about this blessed event. Please remember that all next week we are on a minimum day schedule-12:30 dismissal. Also, next week is Red Ribbon week-each day has a theme. Information regarding the theme-days went home in the family envelope. I look forward to speaking with you all next week!
This week in class:
Reading- chapter 8 in our Superkids reader. Students will work on reading accurately, reading with an appropriate rate, and practice observing punctuation. In comprehension, understanding sequence of events, and character motivation.
Language Arts- associate ear, ar, and or with er; decode spelling words; comparative and superlative adjectives using er and est; and compound words.
Math- we will be having a test on Wednesday, October 16th. A study guide went home on Friday, please review study with your child to prepare him or her for the test. We will begin our new chapter on Thursday, Using Bar Models to Subtract and Add.
Science-we will finally complete our Animal Reports.
Religion- our BLESSED program for Reconciliation will begin.
Social Studies- our weekly is Where Is The United States? Students will learn about maps, distance, coasts, continents, and cardinal direction.
