11/29: Do you have a favorite Christmas Song connected to Jesus' birth or
your faith? If not, chose one of the traditional ones we sing at mass
during the Christmas season. If you can't remember all the words
look it up and then write the name of the song and its lyrics in
your Faith Journal - we need it for tomorrow's activity. Don't forget
to review what you listed to praise God for last night - if you didn't
accomplish that please complete it now!
11/28: Advent is the "season of expectation!" We focus on looking
forward to the coming of Christ. Therefore it's the perfect time
to begin the practice of the prayer of praise. In your Faith Journal, on
a new page, please write the date and all writing in italics:
Praise is the first phase of spiritual growth. I develop when
I realize that I can know and appreciate God. I realize this
when I begin the habit of praise. [When you awake in the morning
are you excited about the new day, or are you without any feeling,
or maybe slightly depressed?]Each day as I go into the world I am an
ambassador for Jesus Christ. I am taking an active part in bringing
His love, forgiveness, and mercy to everyone I meet. I will praise God
for what He has done, is doing, and what He is about to do, through me!
I will remember the good I did yesterday. I will praise God for doing
it with me, in me, and through me. I will think about the good I did
today, and praise God for it. I will look throughout each day to see
what I can praise God for.
[Now list the things you need to praise God for.]
