This week in First Grade:
Reading-We are learning the "er" and "ed" ending. For this week the "ed" makes the sound ed...for example, planted or rested. We are reading the short story, "The Best Sandbox Ever" and our main story is "Lily's Desert Project".
I forgot to put the practice words in last weeks and this weeks homework folders. I apologize for this...I will send this home tomorrow in their planners. Please keep this at home for practice.
Spelling- after, never, better, winter, summer, rested, twisted, planted, printed, acted
Grammar-When we add "er" to the end of a verb the verb changes to a noun. For example, kick turns into the noun kicker. We are also learning that when you add "ed" to the end of a verb the verb changes to past tense. For example, kick changes to kicked.
Writing-We will be tasting red apples and green apples and then writing a short opinion on which apple we like the best. We are also starting a narrative story.
Math- We are finishing Chapter 5- Shapes and we are starting Chapter 6-Ordinal Numbers
Religion-Finishing The Rosary
