Dear Pre-k Families,
I hope that you and your families have had an enjoyable winter break. I am looking forward to getting back together and continuing our Animal theme. We will continue with a week of bugs and then a week of animal life cycles.
This week we will be reviewing slant lines with letters N and V. We will also be reviewing letters Ii, Ee and Tt. Last week, our church celebrated Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent. This week we will be talking about Ash Wednesday and learning about Lent. Lent is the season before Easter.
I will be working on individual assessments in preparation of upcoming parent teacher conferences. There is a sign up sheet if you would like to have a Zoom meeting with me to discuss your child’s progress. If the times available do not work out for your family, please let me know and I am happy to work out a better time for you.
Our school is preparing for our biggest fundraiser which is a dinner and auction. This year it will take place virtually with a take out New York steak dinner. Please see the Dinner/Auction flyer. We are working on a class auction item and I am asking for a $5 donation from each family to help offset the cost of the class baskets to go with our Headboard Bench donated by the Mahacek family.
The Preschool is also doing our annual See’s Candy fundraiser. The proceeds from the See’s Candy sale go directly to the preschool. We are asking each family to sell or purchase items totaling $100. If each family is able to do this, we will be able to meet our goal of $3,000. We appreciate your participation. Please see the email from Mrs. Mary for the online link to share with family and friends.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year and especially during this most important fundraising time of the year.

Dear Pre-K parents,
Thank you for your prayers and support while I was home during the past three weeks. I am very blessed to be back and to have my family all better and moving forward healthy. I am so glad to be back!! This week we have been celebrating Catholic Schools week. We are so blessed to be a part of a school that is faith based where we are able to pray, talk about God and practice our Catholic faith. I would like to thank each of you for choosing Our Lady of Mercy Preschool. I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach your children. They are a pretty amazing group of kiddos! On Friday, the school is celebrating teams, if your child has a favorite team, please have them wear their favorite sports team shirt or jersey. We are also collecting donations of cans of soup, in honor of “Souper” bowl Sunday.
This week, we have begun our new theme, All About Animals. We are learning about pets and how to care for them. In handwriting, we are working on letter Gg. Our nursery rhyme is Hey Diddle Diddle. Next week we will be celebrating Valentine’s day. If your child would like to share Valentine cards with their friends, they should write their own name on each card in the From: section. Please have them leave the To: space blank so it is easier for them to pass out. We have 11 students and may be adding a new fiend, so please plan for 12 kids. Thank you for signing up to bring special treats for our Valentine's day snack. Please bring in snack items on or before Thursday, February 11th. We will celebrate Valentine’s day on Thursday, February 11th. Friday, February 12th, we will close for winter break. Classes will resume on Monday, February 22nd.
