This week we will have Grandparents Day. It will begin around 8:15 am. We will have a mass at 8:15 am. After the Mass we will clear out of the auditorium for the breakfast set up. Grandparents may come to visit our classes or the library.
The library will have all of our Landmark projects. Please go and check them out. Everyone has done a fantastic job. I am very proud of all the students. Thank you parents and family members for helping make this a successful event.
I know we are getting closer to the end of the school year but Mrs. Blackburn has reminded the students that all students should still be in the correct uniform. Students are allowed to wear shorts now except on Mass days.

Happy Easter!! I hope that everyone had a relaxing week with family and friends.
We only have about 5 weeks of school left. It is crunch time. We will be focusing on the last part of our academics. Please remind your child that we still have a lot of learning to do. I know it can be difficult but we still need to stay focused and respectful at all times. Keep your calendar handy because we will be having many upcoming events. This Friday progress reports will be going home. This is a reminder of your child's grades. These are not final so there is always ways to improve.

Remember the importance of the week as we prepare for our CHRIST'S RESURRECTION.
Thursday we will have dismissal at 12:30. There will be No Extended care. Students may wear purple free dress for the Mini Relay. If you are bringing an animal for bark for life please arrive by 10:45. Your child will meet you outside at the event. They may not bring their own animal to the classroom. The animals must always be accompanied by an adult.

This week we will have an all School Mass on Friday at 8:15 am. All family members are encouraged to come. We will have dismissal at 12:30.
Farm safety day will be on Thursday, April 27th. A permission slip will be going out this week. Later expect to see a few release forms that will go home and need to be signed before we go on our field trip.
We will be learning about Landmarks and symbols in the United States. In the past 3rd grade has researched and created projects according to the landmark your child chooses. I have discussed the project with the students and will probably choose Wednesday. I will send home particulars on the project and it will be due on May 2nd. I want to give you and your child enough time so the note will go home sometime this week. After the note is sent home please do not hesitate to ask questions. This is a home project and I have found that the project itself turns out to be a family event which is great!! Please make sure your child has involvement it is not meant to be Mom and Dads project. The research must be written in your child's best handwriting. Thank you again.

This week we will be having a Social Studies and Math test. Please be sure to review the questions with your child so they will be successful during the test. We will also be reviewing in class. Both will be on Chapter 7
Please be sure to talk with your child about conduct in and out of the classroom. I know that we only have one quarter left and we all are getting Spring Fever. There has been a lot of talking in class along with students roaming around the class. This will result in a lower grade for conduct depending on how much your child has these tendencies. I have been keeping track in class to be sure your child is graded accordingly. Thank you for your support.
Homework help will begin again after Spring Break. Sorry for the confusion this may have caused some students.

This is a chapter book that your child checked out of the library. They may take the book home to reread the chapters for the test on Friday. Just like a library book your child is responsible for the book. If it turns up missing they will be charged accordingly.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Your child may bring in Valentine cards for the whole class. We have 32 students. Please only write who the Valentine is from. This makes it easier to pass out during class time. We will be having a treat around 1:45 and share our Valentine's.

International Night is tomorrow, February 8th from 6-7:30 pm. Parents who signed up to help from 5:30-6 will be helping to set up. If you have signed up to help please come at your designated time and if you have signed up to bring food you may send it with your child in the morning or bring it around 5:30 pm. Many students are working their way through the multiplication facts. Some students are at a stand still. Multiplication is a skill that must be mastered in the 3rd grade or your student will have difficulties in the years to come. We will finish a couple more chapters in math then we will be going back to multiplication so please encourage your child to memorize their math facts. Timed tests are give Tuesday-Thursday each week.

This week we will be preparing for International Night. We have been writing information about Portugal and beginning our artwork. The event will be on February 8th. Thank you for all those who volunteers hours or to help bring in the food. I will be sending home a note for conformation sometime next week.
